The Ultimate Ibiza Guide

This summer, we visited Ibiza, Mallorca's famous Mediterranean sister island. Well-known for its party scene, this island also boasts authentic beauty, tranquility, and a holistic lifestyle. We brought our car with us to explore the hidden gems at every corner of the island. Before heading off, we did lots of research and also spoke to the amazing Mallorcan chef, Alessandra Mariotti, who gave us some great restaurant tips that did not disappoint. Enjoy our ultimate guide to Ibiza!

Restaurants We Love In Ibiza

Ibiza stands out for its abundance of outstanding restaurants. Most of them embrace a farm-to-table philosophy, offering exceptional dining experiences in gorgeous garden settings. Below, we showcase the restaurants we fell in love with on the island.

Juntos House

Juntos House is a captivating modern farm-to-table restaurant nestled in the charming village of Sant Mateu, Ibiza. Their devotion lies in the pursuit of exquisite, locally sourced cuisine, harvested from their own regenerative farm. Their flavorful food can be enjoyed close to nature in their amazing courtyard, seamlessly blending with the picturesque scenery.

The Giri Cafe Ibiza

The Giri Cafe Ibiza

The Giri Café is a Mediterranean restaurant with exotic influences, nestled in the village of San Juan, Ibiza. The menu takes its inspiration from the day's fresh market haul or the catch of the day. Their garden serves as the heart and soul of our restaurant, embodying one of The Giri Café's most cherished features. Located next to the restaurant, you will find The Giri Residence.

On our last day we hade a divine lunch outside in their beautiful garden and the food was amazing.

Aubergine by Atzaró

Aubergine by Atzaró

Situated between Santa Gertrudis and San Miguel, you'll discover the farm-to-table, country-chic Ibiza restaurant known as Aubergine by Atzaró. This picturesque establishment features a softly plastered white finca, surrounded by multiple dining terraces, pergolas, lounge areas, and bars. The restaurant offers a family-friendly atmosphere and a private space for those who wish to savor the tranquil and unhurried ambiance of the island's northern region.

NUDO Ibiza

NUDO Ibiza

In 2022, friends Jess, Edo, Jose, and Frankie took over and gently polished an aging beach bar next to Es Figueral Beach. They transformed it into NUDOS, a Mediterranean restaurant that merges flavours from Italy, Mexico, Japan, Guatemala, and the Nordics. Collaborating with the organic farm Can Cristofol, the menu focuses on island-sourced ingredients & natural wines.

Nudos became our favourite restaurant in Ibiza; their fried fish tacos and the catch of the day was unbelievable. Bonus points for a stunning location right on the sea.

Casa Lhasa Ibiza

Casa Lahsa is an innovative restaurant and natural wine bar situated in the heart of the quaint village of San Lorenzo, Ibiza. Their farm-to-table menu offers small, simple sharing plates with a Mediterranean flair. The centerpiece of Casa Lahsa is its enchanting garden, which, during dinner, bathes in the captivating and glistening light of the golden hour.

We truly appreciated the simplicity of their dishes and highly recommend trying the fried zucchini flowers. If you love wine, this restaurant is for you!

HÄMBRE Ibiza

HÄMBRE

Hämbre is a trendy restaurant featuring natural wines, located in the gastronomic heart of Santa Eulalia, Ibiza. The restaurant's menu takes inspiration from the surrounding Mediterranean region and incorporates seasonal flavors sourced from the town's very own daily farmers market, 'Es Mercat.' Whether you prefer to dine on the terrace or inside, you can relish in great music and warm hospitality.

Chidas Bar & Cantina

Nestled in a tranquil part of Ibiza town, away from the bustling main squares, Chidas Bar and Cantina is a laid-back dining destination known for its delectable Mexican cuisine. This trendy and hip restaurant is cherished by the locals and offers reasonable prices.

We highly recommend trying their Bloody Mary and their fish tacos. If you're in search of an outstanding Mexican restaurant over in Mallorca, be sure to visit L'informal Tacos.

Can Mimosa Ibiza

The 200-year-old farmhouse restaurant, Can Mimosa, is situated in the heart of the island, just behind the main square of Santa Gertrudis village. Their locally sourced farmhouse cuisine is crafted using fruits and vegetables from their own kitchen garden. Their beautiful garden provides guests with an authentic and laid-back Ibicencan experience

Terra Masia Ibiza

Nestled in the hinterlands of Santa Eulalia, Terra Masia is Ibiza's largest certified organic farm. They cultivate a diverse range of biodynamic vegetables, fruits, and herbs, all of which are used in their organic seasonal farm boxes. Whether you'd like to savor a beautiful breakfast or brunch at the café or simply take a leisurely stroll through this stunning Mediterranean countryside, Terra Masia welcomes you.

Hotels We Love In Ibiza

Ibiza boasts an abundance of charming and luxurious fincas and hotels, although high demand means accommodation is quite expensive on the island. Below, we share the hotel we stayed at, along with others we love.

Finca Can Martí

Finca Can Martí

Located in a protected valley that is part of the nature reserve "Es Amuntos," in the northern region of Ibiza, you'll find the exclusive eco-hotel and agroturismo, Finca Can Marti. The hotel offers a few farm stay rooms with a bohemian yet rural decor.

Can Domo Ibiza

Can Domo Ibiza

Can Domo, is located in the Ibiza countryside, surrounded by an organic garden and olive trees. Each room is unique, with a distinct atmosphere that respects traditional Ibizan architecture while preserving all its charm.

Casa Munich

We opted for Casa Munich as our hotel of choice. It's located in the heart of Salinas Natural Park, making it easy to explore any part of the island. It has a spread out atmosphere, ensuring you feel privacy and calm during your stay. There are multiple pools, tennis courts, bikes and easy car parking. It’s location is one of it’s biggest strengths. Your just 5 minutes from the airport and a short drive into Ibiza town, major night clubs and beach clubs.

Beaches We Love In Ibiza

Similar to other Balearic Islands, Ibiza boasts beaches with crystal-clear waters. Below, we highlight the beaches we visited and loved the most.

Platja de Salada

Platja de Salada is a peaceful sandy cove surrounded by pine-covered hills. It's a favorite spot for local residents and people with private boats. The water here is clear and not too deep, which makes it perfect for swimming.

Cala Escondida & Cala Comte

Cala Escondida, located at Cala Comte, is the rugged, rocky beach to the left of Sunset Ashram. As you make your way down to the beach, you'll notice a rustic chiringuito that offers mouthwatering food and delightful cava sangria. It's the ideal place to grab a bite, seek shade from the sun, or savor a sunset drink.

We loved both of thees beaches and decided to visit them several times. A great perk was that parking was easy. We’ve visited almost every beach in Mallorca and in our opinion, these two cala’s are up there with the best that Mallorca has to offer.

Beach Clubs We Love In Ibiza

Sometimes you're looking for a beach club or restaurant that offers a more relaxed atmosphere, where you can unwind and savour the sun and the gentle breeze by the water. Below, we feature a few amazing options. What surprised us in Ibiza was the high food quality; typically, we have experienced beach clubs with rather poor food quality.

Experimental Beach Ibiza

Tucked away within the Las Salinas salt reserve, you'll find this hidden gem of a beach club. Here, you can indulge in a Mediterranean farm-to-table lunch and sip cocktails on your sunbed under the warm, glowing sun. With its waterfront location facing west, this beach club is the ideal spot for a sunset drink.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here as it offers a harmonious blend of social interaction and a soothing atmosphere. The only drawback we encountered was the swimming conditions. Accessing the ocean is a bit challenging due to the rocky shoreline and sea urchins, so be sure to bring water booties for a safer dip.

Cala Gracioneta

Cala Gracioneta

Nestled in a tranquil corner of the San Antonio coast, you'll discover the beachside restaurant Cala Gracioneta. Situated beneath the pine trees and overlooking the crystal-clear waters, you can fully embrace the charm of this intimate Mediterranean bar and restaurant.

Beachouse Ibiza

Located on Playa d'en Bossa, Beachouse Ibiza is a tranquil sanctuary tucked away from the nearby hustle and bustle of shops and clubs. The food and atmosphere here embody the spirit of 'Ibiza' – free-spirited, curious and wild. The cuisine is Mediterranean, with a strong emphasis on using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.

Experiences We Love In Ibiza

Ibiza is an island that never truly sleeps. There is an abundance of activities you can engage in to authentically experience its beauty. Below, we've listed a few ideas.

Hippie Markets

Ibiza boasts a unique feature in its vibrant hippie markets, which perfectly align with the island's free-spirited atmosphere. There are several markets located in different parts of the island, with Punta Arabí standing as the first and the largest of its kind.

Local Farms

There's no better way to truly connect with a place and its authenticity and heritage than by visiting a farm or winery. In Ibiza, you'll find numerous remarkable farms to explore, such as Terra Masia Ibiza, Can Cristofol Finca Ecológica, and The Farm Ibiza. If you're on the lookout for a great farm to visit in Mallorca, we recommend SOLU.

Interior and clothing shops

When exploring the winding roads of Ibiza, you'll have the opportunity to discover some truly incredible interior design shops. Be sure to make a stop to admire their unique and distinctive bohemian pieces. Some of the shops that caught our attention include Obsolete, which also has a presence in Mallorca, and Ibiza Interiors. It's highly likely that you'll also stumble upon charming small clothing boutiques, whether along the roads or nestled next to a beach club.
