Welcome to the Mallorcan’s annual edition of "the 50 most interesting people in Mallorca". These are the people we learnt about in 2022 who are doing and making things that left us feeling inspired by their work. The list is in no particular order.
Food and Wine
Eva Maier and Stefan Winterling
Eva & Stefan met each other while studying viticulture, then working for different wineries for more than 10 years. They now produce an artisanal Mallorca dry gin from their distillery in Llucmajor.
José María Sirvent
Artist José María Sirvent created the family business, Wagyu Mallorca, in 2010 with a deep respect for the environment, natural foods and sustainable livestock. As a result of working in Japan in 1994, he ignited a great interest in the art of cattle farming used in raising Wagyu.
Brenda Irani
Brenda Irani and her husband first bought the property Son Braho in 2012. During quarantine in 2020 Brenda was inspired to find ways that her family could self-sustain themselves. The result was the Simply Son Braho Farm.
Christer Söderberg and Astrid Colomar
Circle Carbon S.L. is a social enterprise developing an Advanced Soil Treatment using a Natural Pathway Technology for Carbon Negative Soil Regeneration and circular economy activities in the outskirts of Bunyola (9 km from Palma). Circle Carbon was founded by Christer Söderberg and Urs Winzenried in February 2018. Astrid Colomar joined the company soon thereafter.
Greg Schuler and Agata Mikulska
Mistral Coffee is a roastery and coffee shop in Palma's old town, established in 2017 by Greg Schuler and Agata Mikulska. Mistral’s high graded ecological coffee is brought to the island from a range of countries.
José de Palma
Before Blissful Bastards Jose had directed a graphic design studio for 15 years. His new project was born in 2020, when he set out to look for a new granola formula resulting in Blissful Bastards.
Cate Stanton and Gus Alem
Cate Stanton and Gus Alem, founding couple of Uco Bakery, opened their first shop-workshop in Palma where they have set out to make 100% sourdough bread with only 3 ingredients: flour, water and sea salt.
Alessandra Mariotti
Alessandra is plant-based Holistic Chef based in Mallorca. With Cordon Bleu and Michelin Star training, and a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, she offers flavourful, health-conscious and refined culinary services.
Ross Hutchison
Ross started Private Chef Mallorca in 2012 as a way to bring the very best dining experience directly to the people. He has traveled to hundreds of villas and unique spaces around the island, creating food memories and a lot of smiles along the way.
Charlie and Lauren
CAV. is a wine store founded by Charlie, Lauren and their corgi Bao. They source and sell natural wines and other well-made beverages from around the world including beers, vermut & liquors.
Joan Miralles
After many years spent in tourism Joan wanted to provide the community with a natural, sustainable and healthy product. 20 years ago he created the Treurer brand of olive oils, born out of the family farm in Algaida.
David Llompart
David is a beekeeper and his interest in the living conditions of bees is such that he even belongs to the beekeepers' association. He also runs the local brand, Mel Begot, selling bee products and providing environmental education.
Maria Jose and Alessandro Alfano
Mallorca fa Nam was born with the intention of adding value to the community. Maria and Alessandro are providing fresh fruit deliveries to locals and helping create a more sustainable environment on Mallorca.
Amaia Arteta Amatriain
Amaia is the founder behind the open kitchen and cooking classes, Lonja 18. A place designed to have fun cooking together. Lonja 18 was born out of the love of the Mediterranean and the communal components of tables and food.
Ben Whale
Ben has over 20 years experience cheffing, and now specialising in whole plant based foods and nutrition. He's the Head Chef & Partner of The Body Camp, a holistic fitness retreat in Mallorca.
Silvia and James
Silvia was born in Nicaragua, where cocoa has a long history. She is in charge of making the chocolates and she finalises every detail for their clients. Jaume supports the development of recipes and chocolate tastings.
Eduardo Martinez Gil & Lucas Cambiano
Meet the founders of Brilla Kombucha. All from Argentina originally but now based in Mallorca, the guys also run a high end restaurant in addition to their kombucha brewery.
John Kristiansen
Originally from Norway, John traded in law for bakeries, building the hugely popular Fibonacci chain of cafés and products across Mallorca.

Amy Dunn is an international wine lover, writer, ambassador & communicator that provides bespoke wine delivery, tastings, events & consultancy.

Cristian and Gabriela founded the amazing Agabar, bringing you the richest cocktails and endless Agave distillates in their little gem of a bar in Santa Catalina.
Dennis and Isabel
Chasing their dream, Swedish pair Isabel and Dennis opened the cool Flora bar in Palma. For Isabel, who is half Majorcan, Mallorca has always been a big part of her life and Dennis, who has traveled extensively, was not hard to persuade when Isabel asked if they should move to Mallorca.

Berrow Projects was founded by brothers Archie and Monty Berrow who moved to Mallorca in 2016 with a shared vision of bringing a professional, innovative approach to Mallorcan property development.

For Melissa and Thomas, Espanyolet was born out of a simple but authentic desire: to use our hands on surfaces beyond a computer keyboard. Learning ceramic-making, batik and natural dyeing in Bali eventually led them to Mallorca’s magnetic pull.

Lizzie runs a horse riding school, Naturecavall, and has also co-written with her sister, Anna Deacon, the adventure travel book, Wild Guide Balearic Islands.
Lisa Heschel
As a way to nurture herself and recharge after early motherhood, Lisa decided to realise her dream of pottery-making. She always found Mallorca, and its wild nature, a magical place. She spent many holidays here, including an inspirational three months of maternity leave, which was the impetus for her and her family to emigrate and build a life on the island.
Stacey van Tichelt
Stacey runs Rancho Fino Mallorca, a small stable in Costitx, in the middle of the island. Stacey founded Rancho Fino Mallorca rescue about 7 years ago by accident and the rest is history.

Tom is the founder of Shiny, an online community with 1000+ curious builders and creators discovering the frontier of technology, commerce and culture.
Juan Jose
Juan runs a small shipyard producing sailing dinghies and also repair some of the vessels taking part in the big regattas such as the Nautor Swan or TP52. They've also also started making their own surfboards together with one of the most recognised shapers on the island.

Anna Lena creates and hand weaves the unique pieces in her studio in the centre of Palma. As the studio is now growing she is working with a small and awesome team of collaborators.
Rose Germaneau Castaner and Joachim Pourqué
Rose & Joachim settled on the island in 2015. Ready to radically change his profession, Joachim then began testing and manufacturing natural soaps using the traditional method of cold saponification: the brand "Jabón de Mallorca" was born.
Ana Rojas
Ana is the founder and CEO behind the home fragrance company Aromas de Mallorca. After studying pharmacy and nutrition in Madrid, Ana combined her experiences into forming Aromas de Mallorca.
Pedro Monge
Pedro is a professional journalist and vocational shoe designer. He came to Mallorca in 2003 to work for Camper Shoes and after some years there decided to set up his own shoe brand, Monge Shoes.
Adriana Meunié
Adriana grew up in Mallorca and has a studio in Felanitx. Her balance between home and studio are essential and she is now working on a local clothing project, Odeminui.

Marinella is the founder behind the flower shop A di Amore. She works with natural & conserved flowers to decorate weddings, hotels & shops. She has a great eye for combinations & has been honoured to design many weddings.
