Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

My name is Lorena Arance and I'm from Mallorca. I studied photography in 2005 and spent many years working as a freelancer.

However, I have always felt the call to do something different, more personal, where I could put all that love, care and detail that I could not reach with photography. That's how I got into the world of zero waste, pursuing to live in a more leisurely and conscious way.

That's how in 2019 I decided to open Feels Like Home as my own business. I started creating my own handmade soaps and self-care products, but it ended up becoming what you can see now: a slow project of vegan candles scented with pure essential oils and other things to make your home the cosiest place.

Since then, I haven't stopped working hard to improve my business to offer a quality product as honest as possible.

  • @milasdeli: a culinary photographer that inspires me a lot with a clean and minimalist style.

Favourite place to swim?

Honestly, I am not a big fan of summer but I like to go to Playa de Muro because the water is very clear and perfect to go with family.

Very near where I live, we have the Camp de Mar beach and it has a rock zone that is perfect for swimming and also it has a beautiful view of the sunset.

Favourite restaurant?

  • Es Taller in Valldemossa. A beautiful restaurant located in an old garage. Local, seasonal and fresh products that will surprise you.

  • Oliu Restaurant in Andratx. Mediterranean and contemporary cuisine. The tasting menu is incredible.

  • Galilea Trattoria & lounge in Galilea. Best pizza I have ever tried, huge and thin with a very savoury taste. Also amazing views of Galilea village.

  • Mitj & Mitj in Puerto de Andratx. Perfect for enjoying tapas sitting on a terrace next to the sea. In the summer afternoon there is live music on the street.

Best month of the year on Mallorca?

For me the best months in Mallorca are April and October. This is because the island is not in the touristic high season and the weather is very quiet and the nature and light are beautiful.

What is your favourite town in Mallorca?

Without any doubt, Fornalutx is my favourite town of Mallorca. It is a small village surrounded by high mountains and orange trees. I love to get lost between their little streets, enjoying the architecture of the Mallorca traditional stone houses and their unique painted roof tiles.

What is your favourite hotel on the island?

I have stayed several time in Sa Tanqueta in Fornalutx. They have beautiful apartments with an amazing views of the mountains & village. I still remember the delicious breakfast in front of the fire place.  I Also like Son Viscos in Valldemossa a lot. Is a small hotel with an incredible garden to pass hours walking and reading in completely calm.

What is one other secret/great tip about Mallorca that you'd like to share with our readers?

I always recommend to new visitors that are going to visit Mallorca to not come out during the high season because the island is not crowded and you can know very well all the nooks of Mallorca without rushing.
